Cnsodering the potential fall out I wonder if the NHL also comes to its sense on the Olympics.... This is definitely one way to keep us engaged through the off season when we all bemoan a GMs logic when it comes to these lists

Im really surprised this happened. While I want to know obviously, I really don't see the benefit from a League or PA perspective.

Fantasy sports is so relevant now and this is the closest to a fantasy draft we'll see in real life. The players who are/aren't protected would know by the team, fairly early too, so it's not like this will be a surprise to them. The only ones that won't like this are ones that have sensitive egos.

The ones left unprotected will have had a very good idea since the news came out of a new team if they would be kept, not kept, or playing for their right to stay. We've run through who to keep and who not too and there's very few borderline ones out there really.

They're all competitive and I can only see the player leaving Colorado being happy with getting picked off their team, so I bet 99% will be sour tho.
