He was never a huge producer in the past but to go from 19+25=44 last year to 4+2=6 in 58 games so far this year....anyone know what was up with him or is he just on a terrible team

I've never thought highly of his as a fantasy player and more like last season was "the epic overachievement of Joe Colborne", so my opinion is that he regressed to his career norms AND was further affected by being on a bad team.

I didn't think he would crash this badly but I never saw much in Colborne and last year's run really surprised me.

Ahhhhh yes. He was one of the many "top six" player Brian Burke tried to sell the market on that he acquired while in Toronto. Christian Hanson, Matt Frattin and Luca Caputi also come to mind.

Last year's numbers were boosted by a stretch of - if I'm remembering correctly - something like 20 points in 20 games. More and more it looks like that was a total fluke.

Last year he ended with 20 points in 18 games. The rest of his career: 94 points in 274 games.

This thread needed to happen at the start of his NHL career. Wasn't he described as the 2nd coming of Joe Thornton at one point early on?

Not by me. I would read all of the hype and his results at the lower levels never matched up. A point a game in college is good but not star-level. In the AHL he was also good but not star-level.

Yes he was, and the Bruins were pretty high on him when they drafted him. I wasn't thrilled that they included him in the Kaberle trade in 2011.

I thought he was finally going to develop into a 45-50 point player and was just a late bloomer, but I agree now that last season was an aberration now.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

90% of the reason he was drafted in the 1st round is because Burke saw his last name.
