Just received an offer of
Matthews + Josi vs Kuznetsov + Gaudreau...
which is an offer I am considering but I was thinking to counter with the following since I would have to do more deals to get under the cap.
Matthews + Josi + Byfuglien + Skinner
vs
Kuznetsov + Gaudreau + Panarin + Theodore
Do you think i should send the counter or accept the initial deal? Clearly boosting my offense but am I hurting my defense too much?

It's the actual salary, in our league Weber is at 12 M$ this year, Kopitar at 14M$ etc.
Matthews (0.925) + Josi (4.5) + Byfuglien (8) + Skinner (6)
vs
Kuznetsov (3.4) + Gaudreau (6.75) + Panarin (0.925)+ Theodore (0.833)

No way I trade Matthews in a cap league right now. His peice is going to skyrocket. And your saying u have to get under the cap. Trading your cheapest and probably biggest name player is not the answer

Thanks. I think I would also be keeping Matthews while he's still on his ELC. Lets not forget that Kuznetsov is a FA at seasons end and due a raise as well.Originally Posted by Tical

100% agree with the others. Matthews is basically unmovable on a rookie deal (with 2 full seasons left!) and Josi has to be one of the better top defenceman bargains in cap leagues (in my opinion anyways). Panarin and Kuz are both getting big raises too, so it would just mess with your cap situation for next year.

I'd be more concerned with sorting your cap out than acquiring a 7 million (ish) player.... Though have to say I don't see an issue with moving Matthews to do that if you can dump your garbage and still get a decent return but that's just me
