well it seems you've already answered your own question in line 3 of your post so go with your instinct. At this point Elliott is match proof regardless your decision he is white hot.

I am in the playoffs in two head to head leagues this week. 1 team i am the owner of Elliot and the other my opponent owns Elliot.
I'm thinking of benching him on my team and hoping that Washington scores a pile of goals.
Elliot has been lights out lately, but this may be the only way i can be get (stay) ahead in both my playoff matchups.
Is this a good idea? What would you do in my situation? Calgary has been hot but a road matchup against Washington is scary. Thanks in advance for any advice.

He's bound to lose at some point but I am not sure how you cannot start him until he does. He's been lights out.

I'm starting him tonight.
I find it's best to start all my goalies early in the week and see what happens. Then worry about match-ups and sit/starts later in the week once you see where you stand. If he loses tonight and lets in 5 goals it will hurt less than if I benched a shutout. The fact that he is on fire makes the decision even easier for me.
I would start him. And it doesn't make sense to make decisions based on who someone else owns in another pool. Maybe in one you end up benching him but he gets the win even though he lets in 4 goals, and in the other you gain the stats because he let in the four goals. You just never know how things are going to shake out.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Thanks guys for the input. I'm going to start him, see what happens. Would be a genius move (in my mind) if I benched him and Wash exploded for a blowout win. But he's just too hot to be riding the pine.
