Am I a fool not to accept this asap? I don't watch much Ducks game tbh so I just assume Montour isnt getting any PP time and he's stuck behind the likes of Lindholm Folwer Vatanen Bieksa... hell, he's n.9 on Rotoworld and Theodore isnt even on that list.

The thing is, Giordano is getting old and he's almost at 7m$.

Also, I can keep my Montour for ''free'' since he's a protected rookie (special rule)

Thank you for your help once again!

At 7 Mil I think you're getting better dollar value out of Montour. Unless you're going all in next year AND easily have the cap space to spend on Gio, I wouldn't.

You also can't look completely at Montour's current value. He's still maturing and breaking in. So keeping Montour is based on his future projected/expected value. Whereas you trade to obtain Giordano for his current value. He's old, so it's now or not with him in terms of production.

At 7m, and 35 he's ticking declining bomb. Def. not worth 7m

I would hold Montour as well

Cap league with 15 keeper-limit... I don't see any point in getting Gio here and having to drop another player while eating away at your cap space.

    I would keep Montour here

Unless you can absorb his cap hit and can drop Gio next year then I get out now - he'll still contribute and if you have dead space he makes sense but generally cap leagues are a little more fickle so makes sense to get out now if you need to

The way I see it, in a pts-only league, Gio gets 50pts for a tad less than 7 mil. Montour gets 10 at minimum for a bit less than 1 mil.

If you break it down, Mountour will give you at minimum 10pts per $mil. with a good chance at 30+pts per $mil. Giordano can give you AT BEST 8pts per $mil.

That doesn't automatically mean that Montour is 3x more valuable than Giordano, but it does show that he is worth his cap hit more than Gio

Of course, a lot of intangible points can be raised (is Montour even going to play a full season, what if he only gets 10 points but takes up a roster spot where another D could have come in and produce, can Giordano hit 60+, ...) but in the end, I prefer Montour considering his potential output vs his cap hit.
