Default Conor Sheary Next Year and Beyond?

Is he the Kunitz heir apparent minus the physical play? Is he going to be riding shotgun with Crosby for awhile to come? The guy is close to PPG and I am debating him over Kopitor in my keep 10 league as my last keeper.

I actually wouldn't fault you for it. I think his upside may be higher than Kopi's next season plus there's the bonus of him being a winger and you possibly being able to deal Kopitar.

It's not much, but it shows you how well he positions himself, how he's able to take a precise shot from weird angles and from a less-than optimal set-up. He's also pretty quick and feisty. Basically, the kid has a great vision for the game.

This footage was taken from last year on top of it... This year, he's just gellin'

He's one of those talented players that got overlooked come draft time in part due to his small stature. He's been proving critics wrong for some time now. I like his upside for 60-70 going forward. He reminds me of Tyler Johnson but on a line with Crosby

60 to 70 point winger overtakes Kopi for me. I like a 60 point winger to about a high 60's low 70's center anyway but I also feel Kopi has slowed down to more the mid 60's center going forward as is.

Quick note - I'll be covering Sheary in Cage Match next week (i.e., March 29th), so stay tuned. At the risk of derailing the thread, does anyone care to guess who Sheary's opponent will be?

No one has guessed correctly just yet, although Miller was one of the names I seriously considered, along with Drouin, before deciding on his actual opponent. The only hint I'll give is they're less than 18 months apart in age.

Getting back on topic, I like Sheary a lot but I'd keep expectations in check. He is very talented and has developed chemistry with Crosby but the Pens have a lot of talent up front and coaches change lines from time to time. While it's very possible I wouldn't bet on 60-70.

Regarding Kopitar/Sheary maybe try hitting the trade market? Find a buyer and move one for a pick upgrade.

Would have been good but he and Sheary are only 10 months on the nose apart...

EDIT: Duhhhhh less than 18 months apart can equal 10 months apart... Maybe you are onto something CF
