Debating on dropping a player (Sharp) on my team that is in my team name as I'm competitive and I don't see him helping the rest of the way. But I really don't want to piss off the Fantasy Hockey Gods. Is that silly? What are your guys thoughts on moving a player who you named your team after?

I have other borderline players that I've been switching in and out but don't really want to drop any of them right away and don't want to miss out on this waiver wire pickup I'm looking at. If they'd only put Ekblad on IR, I'd be set.
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

There are no such thing as the"Fantasy Hockey Gods."

Do you really think your roster move is going to affect how Sharp plays? If he is the best candidate to drop, drop him.

Tough to argue with that logic

I agree, it's probably foolish of me to hold onto him at this point. I don't think I've used him more than once in the last 2 months. But...

We're all missing the opportunity here: if you drop/trade Sharp, you'll have to rename your team! Post your roster and we'll come up with something good for you.

But I was so in love with the name SHARPNADO! Do I really have to rename the team this late?

I have enough mediocre players on my roster so he's safe from me.

You're banished from the league if you change your name now.

If you're worried about luck then learn something from this experience and come up with a better team name in the future - perhaps one that doesn't have a player name pun.

Haha, alright dropped him and I'm sticking with SHARPNADO!, too late to change it now. Here's hoping Kassian picks up a few Hits/PIMs against his old team this week.

Well, for the Rocky Horror Roto Show, we usually go with something horror themed (yes I know Sharknado is stretching the definition of horror) so using a player name pun is almost a necessity. In the past I've been House of 1000 Orpiks (or Corvos back when we started) and Barried Alive. I really enjoy coming up with names that fit that theme based on a player that I draft.

Boo! This is a cardinal sin in my mind. I've had teams where I've had to change the names frequently (I tend to churn my rosters!) but that's much less painful than that alternative.

    Post the roster!

Sharknado has become scary awful. Totally fits the theme of the league.

Well, it's an exercise in futility as I'm committed to that name (ask my girlfriend, given my fear of commitment, that's a pretty big deal) but feel free to make suggestions if they fit the horror theme. May come in handy next year. Keep in mind that much of this roster could turnover as well as it's an absolute dogfight at the top of the standings so there's no room for loyalty to guys who aren't producing right now.

C - Dubinsky, McDavid, Wennberg, Kuznetsov
    LW - O'Reilly, Laine, Sheary, N Ritchie
RW - Seguin, Pastrnak, Draisatl, Palmieri, Kassian, Frolik
D - Streit, Klingberg, Boroweicki, McQuaid, Orpik, Parayko, Bieksa, Ekblad
G - Rask, Greiss, Berube, Luongo
    Without me, it's only "aweso".
