I am pretty sure this blurb was written before the 2016/17 NHL season started. I can't find a date on it but all the other articles listed in the our latest articles section of that page were from October and September 2016.

Nope. Seems new -- it mentions him having one year left on his contract, which he does.
I think next summer is decision-making time.

Now I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't come, for a whole host of reasons. But it's CBS.

So as per his replies to his tweet, he is in negotiations with his current KHL club, not Tampa Bay...looks like he isn't coming over any time soon...😔

maybe he wants to wait until he can sign as a ufa in the nhl so he won't get a small contract and make more money in the khl for the time being?

* Hearing that Lightning forward prospect Nikita Gusev has no immediate plans to return to North America; he has one year left on his contract for Russia's SKA and plans to re-negotiate an extension. Gusev, a seventh round pick in 2012, is a dynamic, 5-foot-10 forward and one of Nikita Kucherov's good friends, with both playing for Russia at the world championship. Tampa Bay has previously offered Gusev an AHL-only deal or a two-way deal, but he's getting a top-six role in KHL.
