    Default Quick or Pickard Tonight?

Big decision for tonight, as my skaters have decided to stop scoring since playoffs started, I need to stay ahead in all goalie categories to give myself a chance to advance.

    Quick vs Nashville
    Pickard vs New Jersey

Pickard has been hot lately (minus the game he got pulled last week) and is facing a NJ team that has been shutout in 3 of their last 4 and lost their last 8, but Colorado is Colorado and I feel like I'm playing with fire after getting 1 good start out of him this week already.

Nashville has dropped 3 straight, but have also averaged 4 goals per game over their last 8.

    Who would you start?

Quick is the better pick, of course, but you're not nuts for considering Pickard.

What do you need more? Wins, GAA, save percentage or saves? The only two categories that I find are remotely predictable on a game-by-game basis are wins and GAA. Saves you can only count on sometimes. Save percentage is a crapshoot.

So, if you need a win pick Quick. But Nashville shoots and Nashville scores, which could lead to a decent number of saves but also runs the risk of a high GAA.

If you need GAA, pick Pickard. New Jersey is due a win, but doesn't score much and Colorado's defense has improved with the addition of Barberio and the return of Johnson. So while I'd never count on Colorado for a win you can probably count on Pickard to let in three or fewer goals. If I had to predict, I'd suggest the Devils win 2-1 or 3-1. The problem is New Jersey barely shoots so that could mean an awful save percentage.

Very good points. I am more concerned with the W and adding more saves. Luckily for me, Lehner blew up my opponent's GAA and SV%, so barring a meltdown of my own, I should have those wrapped up.

Yeah, then Quick is your guy. LA is defensively sound, so that helps as well

You can still count on Pickard for another week or two, Colorado plays Detroit twice and Arizona once. After that, it's all downhill again for Avalanche goalies.

If you need Ws and SVs, can you not start both?

It's not the popular opinion, but I'd start Pickard.

Quick is coming off a major injury (he has looked good mind you) but I've always been of the opinion he is a bit overrated. Nashville is a team that can blow up a scoresheet and I just don't think LA is that great a team anymore.

Pickard has been playing very well of late and NJ is struggling to score, and really have been all year. Who wins this game is a total toss up (it's essentially a wet noodle fight) but I'll be shocked if its a high scoring game. I think max its 3-2 game.

If you need wins I'd probably give an edge to Quick (But I'm also not that sure there's any better chance of LA beating NSH than of COL beating NJ).

If you need GAA, SV% or SV I think I'd lean Pickard.

And since I've said all of this, Pickard is probably going to get lit up lol

I'm going to say Quick, mainly just because I'm almost always wrong and I actually want Nsh to win. Bit of a toss up.

If you own Quick and you question yourself if you should start Pickard over him....well then why even own Quick?

Quick isn't confirmed yet and Pickard is.

    Keep on eye on this.

Quick was the first one off today from the optional skate. Normally indicates he's starting.
