Default Tank and Luongo for Letang

Letting is gold in this league as he fills all he categories and there is an added bonus for D man scoring (see league in sig), but his injuries, especially this year, can limit his value. I have this offer of Tank and Luongo for Letang on the table. Tank would obviously be a keeper and Luongo just a fill in to help with my weak goalies (Bishop likely gets only moderate play down the stretch). I am currently in first place in this pool and the added goalie and points from Tank (as Letang is out for at least another 4 games) would help me seal the deal. Thoughts? I know in most leagues this would be a no brainer but Letang when he plays averages about 2.5 fppg in this league and Tank is around 2.15 fppg over the last few seasons. We allow 2 free agent claims a week and we have 3 IR spots so it is pretty easy to pick up another D when Letang goes down. As well, D men are hard to come by as it is a 10 team league that suits 6 D men per night.

    Thanks

If it helps seal the title this year then it's a no brainer for me. I think I even like it moving forward, even with the scoring breakdown. Tank is just more reliable.

How gold is Letang when he's consistently injured?

I don't care if Im undervaluing D in this league, but no way can I trade Tank for Letang.

    Tank the deal!

You have enough quality Ds to make up the difference for the bonus. Letang's health makes him a liability. Remember, it's always about actual points, not pace points. Do the deal, and enjoy the Tarasenk-show.

Agree do the deal - your D is solid and you can stream the flavour of the week the rest of the way. Letang is great when he plays but the injuries are frustrating. Think Tank also has another gear in STL now that Hitch is gone.

I would do this even without Luongo. The fact that Lou can help you win a few extra points down the stretch helps confirm my choice.

Well, I have until tonight at 10:00 pm before the trade deadline is over. Thank you for your responses guys. Seems like jettisoning Letangarang is the consensus. Repped where I could.

Anyone else want to chime in?

Well I pulled the trigger. Gonna miss a healthy Letang, but a healthy Letang is becoming a rare sighting these days.

Hope that Tarasenko and the rest of the Blues squad shrug off their little slump and start prodigiously lighting the lamp again soon
