    Default Guessing Galchenyuk's next contract

He is a bargain this year, but his contract is ending after this season.

I am trying to decide to keep him and hope for a reasonable cap hit. Or move him for something, before I let him got for nothing this summer (if he signs for something crazy).

What do you think? If he signs for 5mil/year (maybe 6) or less I can keep him. If its over 6, I think I gotta let him go.

Ryan Johansen and Sean Monahan seem like decent comparables. I would also point out that Radulov is currently at 5.75, as is Petry. So we could see another contract like this out of MTL.
So I would say we see 2 seasons at 5.75, then he can sign a big contract next time.

RyJo's last contract was a bridge deal. He's heading into the same territory as Galchenyuk this off-season, looking for his new long-term deal. I also don't see Galchenyuk signing a second bridge deal. This one is going to be the big one for him.

I can see it being in the $6 - 6.5M range, 6 yrs.

Fair point, though I still somehow feel like Galchenyuk needs another year to fully prove what he can do.

It's going to be 6+ unless Berg can seriously convince him to take a discount. Look at his numbers and look at some of the contracts handed out the last couple of years. Gally is one of their best offensive weapons and a center to boot.
