3rd going the other way is what I've heard... he was my final pick in our draft last year... I don't see this hurting his fantasy value down the stretch, depending on PP1 opportunity, he could have just gotten better.

I'd rather have Vanek than Hansen. Hot taek.

FLA gives up Dylan McIlrath and a third round pick to DET for Thomas Vanek. DET retains 50 per cent of salary.
Seems pretty cheap for Vanek?

Very good value for Vanek. Hasn't been a great playoff performer but maybe it works out this time around. There's salary retained but since he's a UFA, it's basically a non-factor.
Where does he lineup? You've got to think he starts on the third line right? No way they break up Jagr-Barkov-Huberdeau or Jokinen-Trocheck-Smith. Does he get time on PP1?

Fine with this ove for Florida but not somebody I'd want on the team in the playoffs. But they do have to fight to make it.
SO they got a 2nd and a 3rd for B. Smith but only 3rd for Vanek. I don't know if I can understand.
I think he has to land with Trocheck, as both Smith and Jokinen have sub-6.00% team shooting percentages at 5x5. The big question mark is PP1 or not. The odd man out who lands on PP2 will take a value hit.

I'll take this return. Thought he could have gotten a 2nd given what they got for Smith...but I'll take it.
