Marner for Seguin, Pacioretty, +.

I think I can trade away my Marner and a 13th (last round) for Seguin, Pacioretty and a 2nd. Good return I think, but then I'd have too many keepers and would likely end up dropping Letang at the end of the season. Is it still worth it for me, when you consider I'd be dropping Letang to keep Pacioretty? I do have 3 first rounders so I may very well get him back. What do you guys think?

You actually have confirmation that you could do this? If so that's an incredible return for Marner, its hard to believe that they would give that much, I would want Marner + as a Sequin owner. But if its the case, then yes do the deal, if you can't move patches for a pick or package him with letang for a better keeper, I would say you improve your keepers as Seguin is a bump up from Marner,and you ALSO get a pick upgrade, so pull the trigger before the other GM has too much time to think about it

I think this is a great deal for you. If you have 3 first rounders, even if you don't get Letang back, you should be able to draft a D-man that will be able to replace him.

Seguin is still the best player in this deal, so yes getting Patches and 2nd rounder to boot is an unreal return. I don't know if your stating this deal in theory or if this is real but yes I would do it.

Update: swap out Patches, swap in a first rounder in 2018. Works better for me because I don't have to lose Letang, and works better for him because he gets to keep Patches as a keeper. I like this deal plenty now. He accepted!

That's just crazy. You upgraded your keeper from Marner to Seguin and got a 1st and 2nd round picks as well? That's just madness. I hope your league doesn't veto the trade.

I had no intention of doing Marndar away, but he has to be what I wanted and we went from there. We are both big Leaf fans, ha ha.

That such a fleecing. I had biases Montreal Canadian GM, hes still in my league but has since smarten up. He would trade you virtually anything to acquire the top Habs players.

Looking good! Now I've got an 3 1st rounders next year, 2 seconds, and only lost a few lower level picks. Plus an extra 1st in 2018 and no last round pick! I like that better than getting Pacioretty and having to drop Letang. I'm hoping for less injuries next year, haha. Plus I'll be sure to draft a solid D replacement for him.

Thanks! We're in our first year of a keeper, and most of the GM's don't really trade much. I've made several big trades with this one dude. Started as Nylander for Simmonds and escalated quickly, haha.
