Solid move for the Wild. They aren't getting any younger so this move makes sense.
Arizona gets more ammunition going forward. They are really starting to come together as a franchise. Datsyuk, Pronger and Zbynek come off the books next season too so they have 27 megabucks of managements money to play with

Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

All these pre deadline moves are going to make for a dreary Wednesday!

Deadline Day was weak last year too. A quantity of low-grade players swapped but not much meat, just broth.

I like the move but this seems quite a steep price to pay for Hanzal.

Both of those guys that MIN got are great players. I was pissed when Philly let White go and replaced him with Weise. For the money we paid him, he was excellent value.

White does a lot of good things but always finds ways to piss off his coaches.

First round is costly if Hanzal walks but wow Minnesota is stacked. Wonder if this will push Coyle or Haula further down.

Datsyuk and Pronger have cost them a total of $575,000 this season. Actually, even that has gone from their insurance I think. Their cap hits are irrelevant to Arizona because they have internal budget and they won't spend to the cap.

Coyle gets to play wing full-time now and Haula will likely center their 4th line. I think adding Hanzal puts these players in positions which are a better fit for them.
