Not a close race, Kessel beats Johnson in every category except maybe .... hits? I don't have hits in my leagues so haven't paid attention but every other category Kessel dominates

Agreed - a vote against Kessel would be speculative overthinking

I know I'm probably over thinking it but I'm also looking at opportunity going forward. Yes Pit > TB but where does Kessel slot in when everyone is healthy (sheary, rust, etc)? Does he stay with Malkin and Hagelin/Hornqvist on the "2nd" line does he drop to the "3rd" line with whoever, do they reunite the HBK line hoping for last year's production and not what they got from them at the start of this year. Stamkos is likely done for the year meaning Johnson is the #1 center and the "triplet" line should stay intact.
To Sidenown there is a significant drop off in hits 45 to 8 which hurts a bit even though Kessel outperforms in ye other cats.

Am I still putting too much thought into this?

Yeah I think you are. Regardless of which line he ends up on when everyone is back, Kessel will be on that electric Pitt 1st PP unit, don't overthink, if you can get kessel for your Johnson you do it.
