Lots of potential going for a guy who will score 60 points in a good season. May be too high a price for it to actually come to fruition, but you never know.
Could be nothing but interesting tweets from Avs writers

I'm picking up more chatter about a potential Senators-Avs trade involving Duchene. We'll see

@RobillardMatt @adater I won't speak for AD but sure sounds like Ceci/2017 first/White are the principals
Personally I wouldn't mind that trade. 1st I couldn't care less about and Ceci is alright, and white sucks to give up for sure but you're getting the Established, star player. Hopefully if this is all true they push to include somebody else instead.

D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
G: Vasilevskiy
That's so yuck for Duchene's fantasy value.
There's nothing wrong with 60 points (that's what I would need at minimum if I was trading stone for example) but he has proven to score more in a good season, 70+

he'd be adding to a great top six and playing with Karlsson on a PP. it would be a good option for fantasy IMO. Pittsburgh would be better but they have no need for him
I don't trust Dater anymore but the asking price seems fair. But assuming Chabot is unavailable, I don't see Ottawa beating out Montreal if they offer a similar package around Sergachev, who I'm sure the Avs will prefer over White.
I moved this to the right section for you.
I am like praba where I am not sure I trust Dater as much as I used to but I also agree that the names mentioned seems to be close to what the Av's are asking. I am not sure I see why the Sens would want to do this when they already have two quality centers in Brassard and Turris who are "maybe" not as good as Duchene, but to give up that package for a possible upgrade doesn't make much sense. I like the Sens down the middle already. I think they could use better scoring from the wings compared to their center position.

He would play wing like he has before. He's be perfect on left wing

as much as id like to see this happen, i dont overly like the fact that they would be moving a prospect (White or Chabot). Ceci is average, and the first is meh.
agreed Duch on the wing rather than C, as our C is pretty good already. Turris, Brass, JPG/Smith/Kelly.
i wouldn't be upset all that much but i think the asking price for duch is too high to start with

Yeah the price is a little high, if that is true. We will see what happens but there's certainly been a lot of chatter about Avs and Sens, straight from the GM and owner as well.
You're more generous than I am. I view Duchene as a 50-55 point guy. 59 points last year, 55 the year before, on pace for 51 this year.
Sure he hit 70 back in 2013-14, but that's when Colorado played out of their league for the most part. He's been in the league for eight seasons, and was good in only three of them.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.
League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.
Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.
We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.
Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid
I think that's a harsh and simply incorrect statement. How do you say only three seasons were good? He's on pace for 55 this season (not 51) and that would be his seventh season out of eight that he was at that level of production. He's had 60 point production in four out of 8 seasons. Are you really trying to tell me 55 points is bad? I view him as a 60 point guy. His career average is 62. I give that more credence than some down years when the team is terrible.
Colorado is currently the worst team in the last decade or more. It's hard to judge when he has no talent around him save a few guys. Landeskog and Duchene, and Mackinnon, have nothing to play for and have zero motivation to succeed right now. They all would get a big boost playing for a playoff team. Colorado is a death pit of sadness and despair.
I don't think he's a huge star or anything, but he's going to be very valuable especially at his price tag.
He's on pace for 51. Don't forget that he missed five games already this season. Here's his Dobber profile with his on pace numbers.
He's played eight seasons so far, including this one.
2009-10: 55 points. A fine rookie season.
2010-11: 67 points. This is one of his good seasons.
2011-12: 28 points. Granted he was injured, but still played 58 games and would have had 40 points in an 82-game season. Not good.
2012-13: 43 points. Lockout season. This is his second good season.
2013-14: 70 points. This is his third good season.
2014-15: 55 points. A disappointing season.
2015-16: 59 points. Still a disappointment, but not as bad as the seasons around him.
2016-17: 36 points, on pace for 51. Another disappointment.
So all in all, only three good seasons. I'll give you four if you want to include his rookie year. But that still means he's been a disappointment in half of his seasons in the NHL.
He's got a $6 million cap hit for the next two years. Fifty-five points for a forward is great if you're making $4 million, but not $6 million.
I agree he won't be a superstar. I think he's an okay player that is somewhat overpaid (not grossly overpaid, but he's not worth $6 million). I know the Habs are in on him as well when it comes to rumours. I wouldn't mind him on Montreal as they desperately need a centre and a faceoff guy. But I wouldn't give much up for him and wouldn't expect more than 25 goals and 55 points.
