Traded my Shattenkirk and Couture for his Karllson. How did I make out?
I would think some will say this is an overpayment but I am trying to consolidate my keepers a bit. It's an 8 team league with rosters of 22. We keep 15 at the end of the year. Scoring is as follows for skaters:
3 points for every 2 Goals (1.5 per) ALL 3 points for every Hat Trick ALL 3 points for every Power Play Goal ALL 2 points for every Power Play Assist ALL 3 points for every Short Handed Goal ALL 2 points for every Short Handed Assist ALL 1 point for every Assist ALL 1 point for every 10 Shots On Goal (0.1 per) C, LW, RW, D 1 point for every 20 Penalty Minutes (0.05 per) ALL
I am currently in first place by about 250 points. I wasn't planning on keeping Couture at the end of the year. Karllson is a top 2 fantasy defencemam (Burns being the other) so thought with the lead I have, he could be packaged with someone else to try and grab Karllson. I realize Shattenkirk is having a terrific year but you have to give to get and I thought I would have to come out with a strong offer, one they would have a hard time turning down. To fill the open spot, Ill probably pick up JT Miller or Eric Staal, both of whom have about the same fantasy points at the moment as Couture.

Great value, great return on expendable assets. Textbook late-season trade in a limited keeper format when you have a nice lead.

Not an overpayment at all in my book. Shattenkirk is good, but he's no EK.. that and Couture is injured 1/2 the time anyway. 50pt Dman and a 60pt forward for a 70+pt Dman??? yes please.

Nah, stealing was when I trade my bobrovsky and a 2nd round pick for Holtby and a 6th round pick last week. lol. And due to some earlier trades, I still have my 1st round pick along with 2 second rounders so I am still in good shape for our draft next year. lol

This is an absolutely great trade for you. To be honest if that trade happened in my league I would have vetoed as I don't think it's anywhere near enough for karlsson. Mind you we only keep 2 so top end talent is worth a ton. Well done.

It's a money league. First year. We drafted our teams before the season started. I've made probably 3-4 trades to get this team where it is.
