RUMOR: Big trade between CGY and MTL
A friend sent me this
Sam Benett, Giordano, 2nd round pick, to MTL for Sergachev, Beaulieu, Plekanec and 1st round pick.
Supposed to be from a press-media anonymous source, and it is said that MTL will announce Plecky and Beaulieu won't play tonigth's game, around 4:30PM. The trade would be announced after the game.

Bergevin has come out and said he has no intentions of trading his key prospects so I doubt there's much truth to this rumor.

Why would they trade for Bennett? Sure he has potential but they are clearly in win-now mode. Move Sergachev for a legit C.

Sergachev AND Beaulieu??? Sergachev was a big reason they were willing to part with Subban in the first place.

No way this trade happens. One team in the playoff hunt the other in playoffs and there going to trade core players + take on projects. Doesn't make any sense in the off season and really doesn't make sense now.

The reason they traded Subban is not Sergachev. It's because Therrien (and some guys in the locker room) didn't like Subban.
