This actually happens quite often since the original team can send the player to the AHL while others don't have that same option. I think that's the deal here as well; Rattie spends the rest of the season in the AHL unless the Blues have a few injuries at the same time.Originally Posted by The Bottlenecker

I'm sure it sucks to move around like that but for many players going through waivers allows them to stay in the NHL longer.
