That's weird. The Leafs have had Leivo sitting for most of the season, and now they acquire another forward. I know Leivo has been getting ice-time lately but they still have Gauthier, Leipsic, Kapanen, Rychel and Johnsson in the minors, right? I just don't understand why they needed another forward.

Don't forget about Timashov and Smith.

Kalinin will most certainly go to the minors. He cleared just recently but they gave up a contract to make it work.

Smith, Gauthier, Froese, Kalinin is a pretty good group of centerman for any AHL team. A position in which the leafs are lacking.

Don't want as many Marlies games as I should/can but I've read reports where Loov wasn't developing anymore. Stagnating was the word. Who the hell knows.

It's a nothing trade that hopefully either team gets something from it.

It's a bust exchange. Lou must have liked him, Kalinin signed with the Devils six days after Lou left.

It's been well established the Leafs have no issue sitting players for an indefinite amount of games.
