Default Time to cut bait on Budaj?

Budaj has now lost 3 of his last 4 and looked very poor in those loses, averaging 4 goals against on an average of 17 shots.

Fatigue must be setting in and the magic ride may be coming to an end. Still, he is 6th overall in my league and I am in first place so I don't want to be too hasty, especially given my juicy stats for Ws and SOs. I'm in first so need to pile on points wherever I can.

    Here are my options:

    A) Drop Budaj and just roll with Greiss as my only tender so I don't have to keep debating which guy to start (ie. started Budaj last night and made the wrong choice). I would grab a waiver wire fwd or D

    B) Too early to drop him - Keep both Greiss and Budaj and roll with Greiss for a while (though it is a wasted roster spot that could be used as a waiver grab)

    C) Drop Budaj and pick up an available tender off the wire. Options include Lehner, Elliott, Neuvirth, Niemi, Lehtonen but are they any better than LA's starting tender? Again, wins and losses are the only thing that matter, so more of a team stat

    Thanks for taking the time.

Lehner is a must own in your format in that you have 20 teams and I don't think there are 20 solidified starters. I would drop Budaj for him immediately.

Re Lehner - the tricky thing is that Buffalo loses as many games as they win and I need wins. LA's defensive game and ability to generate shut outs (Budaj tied for first) is huge for me, and though I agree that Lehner is clearly a better own in a keeper, just not sure he helps me the rest of the way.

Full disclosure though, I am not a big Lehner fan so I may be undervaluing him and Buffalo

Lehner is trending up. Don't focus on his past losses the same way you can't focus on Budaj's past wins. You are simply looking for that small window of games left to give you that push. I think the recent play of Budaj combined with Quick's progress makes him a less attractive goalie than what he used to be earlier on.

I would grab Lehner here and roll with him and Greiss going forward.

^^ fair point (I would have quoted but I can't - also keep having double posts, just assume that it is part of the server issue)

The thing I do like about Lehner and Buffalo is that they will play nice and loose down the stretch and might rack up some wins.

Wouldn't hesitate at all to add Lehner. Even if Budaj rebounds, he isn't the starter when Quick returns at some point in March.

It is done. Welcome aboard Robin. Thanks for your feedback

Now lets put you Lehner fanboys to the test: Lehner at home vs St. Louis or Greiss on the road (kinda) against NJ?

I like Greiss actually, NJ usually doesn't win games 6-5.
