    Default D-Man Trade

    Hi Dobberheads,

I'm looking to bolster my D for the final push to try to catch the guy in first, and to try to get a keeper level D for next year (at the cost of one of my keeper forwards) to go alongside Karlsson and OEL.

How do you feel about the following trade offers?

    • Wheeler + M. Rielly for Doughty
    • Kuzy + Rielly for Josi

I'm leaning towards the first one because I feel like I would be selling low on Kuzy if I trade him at this point. Also, it should be mentioned that I would most likely replace Wheeler/Kuzy's production on my team with J. Bailey from FA.

    Thank you!

I can't seem to edit my post, but I can also trade Wheeler for D. Keith + a mid round pick.

Wheeler/Rielly for Doughty is an overpay; I like Josi a lot but not giving both for him either.Agree w/ Sulla if anything the Keith deal.

Interesting. Do people see Keith and Doughty as comparable over the next few years? Doughty is 6 years younger.

I wouldn't be able to keep Rielly and he isn't having the strongest fantasy year with the limited PP time.

I'm genuinely curious as to what D you would consider fair value for Wheeler + Rielly?

I was hoping for a couple opinions before I finalize a trade:

The trade is M. Rielly (who I won't be keeping) and my 1st round pick next year (12 teams and each team keeps 16 players, 4 who have to have played under 164 games) for D. Keith. The pick would be roughly after 192 players are kept.

Keith becomes a keeper most likely. And he shores up my D as I push for first.

    Thank you!

    Thanks!

The reason I feel like I couldn't keep Rielly is he doesn't make the cut for my keepers.

He doesn't classify as a rookie in our league, so he would have to be kept as part of the 12 "veteran" keepers, and I don't see him above:

Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Scheifele, Marchand, Pastrnak, Wheeler, Karlsson, OEL, Bergeron, Drouin, Lehner, Andersen.

Based on how the rest of the season plays out, even Klefbom and Brassard are making a decent case for themselves, and Keith is in the conversation now most likely forcing a 2-1 deal in the off season or pick recouping.
