I asked him who else he was looking at and I if he would prefer to gimme granlund instead of Trochek and keep the 100+ hits and he said he'd prefer to give up less than either of them and receive more than pominville.

If he really did "offer" that original trade verbally (as opposed to just suggesting it hypothetically), then I would tell him all future negotiations must be done through official trade proposals in your fantasy platform. I dont have any patience for people who don't follow through with verbal offers.
