I read somewhere suggesting they would keep whoever played better this year.

I think neither has really grabbed it this year so they should consider all options especially considering the options potentially available this summer. BUt they could always pull a Carolina and stick with what they know.

I'm with Al - especially when you consider how Mason played when Neuvirth was injured. Stolarz may be worth a cheeky grab in keepers for me...

I think Mason will be the guy. And it is a situation of the 'lesser of two evils'. They both are streaky, and they both get injured often. However it seems Neuvirth gets injured more often and when he does Mason seems to play better.

I'm guessing Mason/Stolarz for next year although I can see the Flyers ditching both.

Mason. Although he's barely ever able to reach a consistent level of play, at least he does have some proven track record as a capable, long term starter in comparison to Neuvirth.

I would not be shocked to see them sign Bishop in the offseason. But my smart money is on Mason.

I would love to see this... but do they have the cap space for it.

They should just expose them both and let Vegas decide who Phili keeps, haha

my vote goes to Mason, with Neuvirth becoming a backup on another team, and Stolarz slowly being integrated throughout the year. I think they will want Stolarz playing though so he will move between NHL/AHL similar to Vasilevski in the last few years.

According to Spotrac they have $50,896,730 in total cap allocations on the books for 2017-18, and cap space of $32,688,192.

Streit, McDonald, Mason, Del Zotto, Schultz, Neuvirth, Ghost, Cousins, Bellemare, Vandevelde, Lyubimov, Weal will all be off the books, barring new deals. (EDIT: maybe Spotrac is being stupid. because now I am seeing tnat MacDonald's 6 year 30 mil albatross doesn't expire until 2020?)

So yeah, I think they could definitely make it happen with Bishop if that was a high priority for them.

Is the reason they are giving Neuvirth this extended run to showcase him for trade?

As a Mason owner it's killing me... can't believe he's getting the start again today after allowing 6 goals last night...
