Has Floyd finished a fight in the last decade besides that sucker punch on Victor Ortiz?
Pretty sure in the last decade Floyd hasn't fought an athlete with zero pro boxing experience either...

Has Floyd finished a fight in the last decade besides that sucker punch on Victor Ortiz? Ricky Hatton? Thats a looong time ago and I think Hatton stunk.
Its not like Conor is a complete novice either, he was an amateur boxing champion in Ireland before moving to MMA.
That is a looooooooong ways from being 49-0 at the highest level. Never underestimate a champion boxer......and I don't even like Mayweather.

Two of the biggest money horse in the world? This has all been a show of them saying it's not after a report is "leaked" saying the fights closer. Or that one of them filed for a boxing license. Or the online chirping.

Funny how it comes out right when Dana White has a bully report against him, GSP dragging his heels again, fighter after fighter removing themselves from scheduled UFC events. And it's scheduled roughly a month after a Bone Jones vs Cormier fight that has been rescheduled due to Jones's estrogen blocker suspension.

I heard this morning (rumoured, no qualifying to the # thrown out on TSN1040) 175m - Mayweather & 100m McGregor

How in the world did this get sanctioned?!
    This is pretty unbelievable.
It suddenly makes the sanctioning of a brain-damaged, half-blind, 60-year-old Rocky Balboa seem credible.

I have to give McGregor some kudos - it takes serious cojones to step into the ring with one of the best pound-for-pound professional boxers ever.
I can't see him lasting more than 3 rounds, unless it's fixed.

The Irishman typically hauls in 4 million per MMA fight and he stands to make 100 million in this match even if it means getting his teeth knocked in. Think I might do it too for 100 mill. What a cash grab. Any thoughts on how long it will last?

Call me crazy but I actually think McGregor will give him the fight of his life. No predictions on how many rounds it lasts but depending on the betting odds, I may put a wager on the Irishman!

Connor can take a punch. Mayweather likes to dance and avoid.. If Connor doesn't over-pursue and gas himself early on I can see this going the distance. This would have to be a 12 round fight for that kind of coin though. Mayweather doesn't fatigue, so Connor can't go hard early on, sit back play the game, hopefully Mayweather gets impatient and becomes aggressive (Connor is also one of the best counter punchers in the UFC)

Not sure Mayweather has ever faced anyone that will talk so much trash during the rounds - Connor doesn't shut up..

Ya, if Mayweather plays it safe, this likely goes 12 rounds. No chance McGregor beats him in scoring though so he's going to have to be the aggressor and take a few hits to land some of his own and in turn, try to get Floyd off his regular game. Easier said than done, but I'm confident that Mayweather has yet to see an opponent with the fire that McGregor has.

Only way McGregor wins is in the first 3 rounds, and he's actually losing the points game but connects on a solid punch.

If McGregor is disciplined (that's a massive if), he's got an outside shot at not looking dumb. If he literally avoids Mayweather for 5-8 rounds, just walking around, he could in a weird way make Mayweather force the play. I dunno, I just can't see McGregor actually doing anything unless Mayweather screws it up.
