I wouldn't call it a breakout yet, as he's only really been on a roll for the past 15-20 games, but he seems to be taking a step forward.

At this point I'd say pencil him in for 50-55 next year, but if he keeps up his current pace for the rest of the season then that is subject to change (as would be my opinion on whether he's having a breakout).

As I recall, he had a similar season last year (I've had him both years). Started really, really slowly then picked it up significantly.

That said, his production is certainly higher this year than last year, so I would say that he's probably on his way to pushing that 50pt mark by next year

He has looked real good lately. Could we call this a break out now? And what should we expect next season

I think he will always be a 50-60 point guy who will contribute in other ways: hits, FOW, blocked shots.

I agree with this pov . Lindholm is a feisty little bugger out there at times .

I was stoked to get him for Skinner earlier in the season

He's either a really slow starter or he finally figured out how to be effective in the NHL.

If it's the latter, I think you can actually put his floor at 50-55 points.

i think he should safely hit 50 pts next season. There's one guy who drafted Lindholm like 3 years in a row in my yearly pts pool, one year he picked him and everyone started laughing at him lol...aint as bad as someone trying to draft dan boyle this past october

I have to agree. I think he could reach even higher. His goal scoring has been dragging behind his playmaking, but I'm not sure it's from lack of ability. He hasn't been taking a load of shots. I think if he starts taking more shots, we could really see a special kind of two way player. I think he could reach 60 to 65 points eventually, with terrific peripherals. He said no bust and along with Aho, looks like Canes best player for years to come.

He's still young enough where he should keep improving too.

What he does next season will be just as reliant on the players around him also taking the next step - that forward group is generally young so any regression will impact his potential output but if everything aligns I could see 60

I think this will be the last season for quite a while that Lindholm's point total (or full season scoring pace) is below 60. He's arrived. Granted, he probably won't be much more than a 70 point player at his peak, if even that high, but he's showing that he's a talent and someone Carolina can build around.

The breakout looks official at this point. Kids turning into the star many thought he would. A run of 60 point seasons seems very realistic expectation.
