If you're a risk-taker, go with Barzal who has higher upside. Dvorak is the safer option and his upside is pretty good as well.

dvorak. the islanders are wonderful a misusing their top prospects. the coyotes are gonna be stacked quite soon, and dvorak should be a big part of that.

Give me Dvorak in this scenario. Barzal might have been the guy with the higher "upside" but Dvorak is playing in the NHL now and looking pretty good. I don't know that their potential is all that different. Dvorak looks to be a player.

Barzal only realizes that potential if he learns to distribute the puck. Puck hogs don't last long in the NHL. Besides that, I like the Yotes situation better moving forward, even if they become the Portland something er'others in 18 months

I know that's the criticism of him, but kid has 8 goals and 55 assists this season. I think he distributes the puck ok.

8 goals? That's atrocious. Not a good sign going forward. Give me Dvorak.

I thought the problem was he was selfish? Now it's that he can't score? Tough to keep up.

    i didn't say those comments.

Just because you get lots of assists as a junior, doesn't mean you aren't selfish at times.

Either way, if you're a playmaker or not, you need to score more than 15 goals as a junior in your +2 draft year. That's just atrocious production. I am not a fan of this player right now.

Just wanted to point out that the Thunderbirds have played out 60 games this year and that Barzal has only took part in 34 total games. 8 goals and 55 assists for a total of 63 points puts him at 1.85ppg, which is among the league leaders. Sam Steel currently leads the WHL with 105 points in 52 games (2.02ppg pace), but the Pats are playing great offensively.

FWIW I still prefer Dvorak but I think that Barzal still deserves to be considered a top prospect nonetheless.
