He deserves it and if they've fully given up on Jaro, I don't see anyone in the system who is a better option during that timeframe. Stock officially risen again.

On the surface I like it but I'm not sure about going beyond this year with a duo of Greiss and Berube. I'd go after a more proven 1B.

I think Greiss has earned at least that amount given how well he has played for the Isles over the past calendar year. Plus, it also allows for a young guy like Sorokin to come over at the end of next year and be THE man by the completion of Greiss' deal.
Bottleneckers (12/16 in 2022)
16 team, points only. G: 2-W, 4-SO.
Top 9F, 4D & 1G . Keep 15, Max 23

D: Bouchard, McAvoy, Morrissey, Heiskanen
G: Vasilevskiy
Similar to Reimer's cost. It's the perfect amount that could be a cheap starter, or not too pricy a backup.

(No I don't have a hockey problem...)
Makes sense, but man the Isles have a ton of guys under contract for next year. 12 forwards, 5 defenders, and 2 goalies, with Berube a RFA.

I don't think the aisles are that far off so having that much re signed already is no bad thing IMO.
This deal? As others have commented is fine - a cheap starter of an affordable back up even if he struggles but at that cap hit teams would be willing to take a chance on him in a new environment based on his current body of work
Experience is the teacher of all things.
good time frame to allow sorokin to finish his contract in khl (one more season after this one)then come over and chip away at pressing for playing time .

If Sorokin is ready to be a starter before Greiss's contract runs out, having a backup with $3.33M salary isn't all that bad. Especially since Sorokin will be on his ELC during that time. I think this just clarifies the situation for now: Halak is a distant memory anymore and Bebube has a couple of years to make an impression until Sorokin likely takes away that spot. Sorokin may need some AHL time to adjust to different sized rink but I don't expect that to last more than a year.
