You're trading a starter and a backup for two backups. I think it's worse than lateral and I would pull it if you still have the chance.

I can see the logic behind this move and I guess I'd rather have the Blues tandem locked up over the Flames tandem right now. I think the issue for me is Howard as he is coming back into a three headed monster so gauging his value right now is rough

i did yank the offer. i guess i was after Howard, knowing that Mrazk wasn't exactly playing lights out and Coreau is most likley being sent back once JH comes of IR. Thought theyd give him the reins for a while and maybe he goes on a run and steals back teh starting gig. Hutton to go along with Allen was just a nice coincidence as a second player in teh trade to even it up.

I think there is more here to look at. St. Louis is a better team than Calgary you'd think so having both those goalies would be worth more. And then you see Howard coming back off IR. There's no way he just goes back into a backup role, mrazek has been nothing but terrible all year. Also think Elliott is nothing more than waiver wire at the point in the season.

I think the concern re Howard is that Detroit are in a position where they will ride the hot hand the rest of the way and right now, with Howard coming off injury, I'm not comfortable enough to say that will be him right now

I agree with Sulla here. There's no promises for Howard, and it's two goalies that he's competing with, not just one.
