    Default Bulky west coast teams

It's interesting to see Tampa use their speed against larger west coast teams like Anaheim, LA and San Jose who seem to be built to play against each other. As a kid, it seemed like the west coast teams, in every sport, were run and gun and east coast was more physical. I get this for outdoor football but indoor sports? Guess it's also a reflection of the fan base.

Usually with any sport, once a team is “Playoff Dynasty” bound, other teams in their division tend to cater their lineup to beat them, not to be the best. This happens in everything. LAK got big and won, other teams draft, trade, and sign to beat them.

Demarre Carroll is a Raptor because he was signed to guard LeBron. Terrible signing now, but that’s what he was good at in Atlanta, guarding LeBron.

Teams are now getting that the difference between 50 and 55 wins doesn’t matter when you get bullied in the playoffs by a perennial championship contender. We hear it all the time, “The Road to the (Insert championship name) goes through (insert good team)”

It's true. That line of thinking from management/team builders saw one Rob Zamuner selected for Team Canada at the 1998 Nagano Olympics.

I find the labelling of East/West coast teams being big and strong changes every 6 years or so.

All it takes is one team to win the Stanley cup a certain way, and others will follow.
