I have an oppotunity to trade away Price,Tavares for Karlsson, Talbot.

any opinions on this trade?

Wow! Now that's a blockbuster. I can see going either way, but in my opinion Karlsson is more of an advantage over other D than Tavares is over other C. It's really a matter of points formatting, and your opinion on the future of the Oilers.

I am big on Talbot, and I have him in a few other pools.

BTW Habs fan here, Price is an elite goaltender even if he is struggling recently but just can't see how Habs can continue On the same pace this with this squad.

How do goalie stats work?

I'd be inclined to accept this especially considering its a points only and (I assume) strictly W & SO cats for goalies.

Karlsson is the top dman to own in points only leagues. He should continue to be a threat to outpoint Tavares every season. JT is sweet but not the #1 forward to own... top 10 - top 20.

Karlsson > Tavares

Talbot is an absolute workhorse. If your league is just counting Ws and SOs I'd argue that he's a wash with Price going forward, especially since EDM appears to have finally turned a corner. He should put up similar numbers (Ws and SO) as Price, if not better, based on his volume of starts alone.

Talbot = Price
