    Default Early Keeper Help

Bit bored, so figured might as well check in on my Football Keepers.
It?s a pretty typical PPR league (INT, Sacks are worth more negative), keep 4 or 5 (forfeit 1st round pick if you keep 5). I finished 6/10, so 6th pick overall.

    QB (1): Cousins, Wilson
WR (3): J.Jones, Demaryius Thomas, Michael Thomas, Thielen, D.Adams, Baldwin, Lockett, Josh Gordon
RB (2): Hill, L.Murray, Ajayi, Stewart
    TE (1): Eifert, Brate
    WR/RB/TE (1):
    IR: Keenan Allen (WR).

    I?m thinking:
Julio Jones, Michael Thomas, Keenan Allen, and Ajayi. Then I?m split on keeping D. Thomas, D. Adams, or Baldwin. Latavius Murray is a FA, so he could go to a better spot, but not sure there?s a better spot for him than Oakland. Cousins was great, but QBs are easy to find in a 10 team draft, plus since its inception (5th yr now?) I?ve always kept a QB (Brees/Wilson) and it?s really stupid to do so.

But do I really Keep Ajayi after a few weeks of solid productions? Could end up like Rawls next yr

RW: Pavelski (C), Giroux (C), Svechnikov (LW)
D: Fox, Makar, Bouchard, Morrissey, Gudas

If you're only keeping 4: Julio, Baldwin, M Thomas, DT
If you decide to keep 5: add Ajayi

With Ajayi, you'll need to see what the Dolphins do. If no additions are made that threaten him, Ajayi is an easy top 12 option at RB going into drafts.

With Allen, I absolutely love his potential but his injury risk is as high (higher?) as any band aid boy. Because you have 4 other amazing options, you don't have room for him.

I trust you'll be looking to make trades to help consolidate the talent of your keepers, so I won't even suggest it.....or did I just do that?

Ajayi is the real deal. As a worst case scenario I would expect double digit fantasy #s from him every week next year. He shouldn't be the next Gurley/Trent Richardson either, because the Dolphins actually have some serious receiving threats so opposing defenses can't just stack the box

... now if only they could get a serviceable QB

Holy crap has my football team made a turnaround from 4yrs ago when we started it. It was Autodrafted for me, and he’s my top players then:

    2013 season:
Brees, Julius Thomas, Michael Floyd, Golden Tate, Zac Stacy, Ray Rice, Rashad Jennings, Rod Streater, DeAngelo Williams, Steven Jackson, Hakeem Nicks. Wow.

    2014 Season:
Julio Jones, Russell Wilson, Brees, CJ Anderson, Lafell, Vincent Jackson, Coby Fleener, Colston, Gore, Jennings, Tre Mason, HARVIN.

    2015 Season:
Jones, Wilson, Demaryius Thomas, Cousins, Houston’s DEFENCE, L.Murray, Aiken, Lockett, Yeldon, Diggs….

Then last yrs team. It’s crazy the football turnover from good to bad.

How many teams? If 10 then I don't mind dumping all your QBs back into the draft pool. 12-14 and I'm keeping Wilson. I like having the security of having a rock solid QB1 during the draft and being able to concentrate on the remainder of my roster needs. Unless you're willing to roll with a QB2 as your starter which is certainly a viable strategy with a beefy roster at the RB and WR positions.

it's a 10 team, and usually only 3-4 QBs are kept each yr roughly.

Rogers, Newton, Wilson (me, but i had to, no other option), and Luck. Our league doesn't really value QBs (high sack and INT negative) unless you're elite.

I agree with not keeping a QB unless it's Rodgers. For your keepers, I reread your first post and think you should be keeping 5 instead of 4. I know you have to forfeit your 1st pick but I doubt you'll find a better player in the draft. My new keeper list for you is

Ajayi, Julio, Baldwin, M Thomas, Allen

Ya that's what I'm thinking, I'm going to see if the guy who has Gurley is willing to trade like Baldwin for him. So I can keep 2RB and 3WR instead of keeping 1RB, 3WR, 1Flex(WR). All else fails I'm fine with just drafting 2RBs, 1QB with the first 3 picks.

With it getting closer, just an update on keepers.

So again it’s a PPR, 10team, 1QB, 3WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1FLEX. We can keep 4, or 5. But if we keep 5 we forfeit our 1st round pick, and I will be drafting 6th overall.

Some possible guys drafted in the 1st round (or 5th keeper round) could be:
    Fournette 17, McCaffrey 29, D. Thomas 30, Gronk 32, Lynch 34, Mixon 35, Gillislee 41, Dalvin Cook 43, Adams 44, K.Allen 47, Crabtree 48, Sanders 50, Crowder 53, Reed 56, Landry 61.

So looking at that and I’ll be drafting 6th overall, if I don’t keep 5 I’m downgrading from D.Thomas to an unproven RB.

Julio Jones, Ajayi, M. Thomas, Baldwin, and D.Thomas are my 5 keepers (4WR, 1RB), so I’m already taking up my flex with a keeper. Bye week 5 I’ll be toast (Julio, M.Thomas, and D. Thomas are all bye week 5 guys), but then after that I would be golden.

I can prolly trade for Gronk very easily and replace my 5th keeper with Gronk so I’m keeping 3WR, 1RB, 1TE.

    Ok BUMP one last time.

Keep 4 or 5 players? If I keep 4, I'll draft likely 6th in the 5th round (maybe higher if someone keeps 5), and guys like Fournette, D. Cook, McCaffrey, Lynch, and Mixon are all available to be drafted, so that can be the first 5 picks and then me. So I'm thinking keeping Julio, M.Thomas, Ajayi, Baldwin, and toss the other guys back into the draft.

I'd be keeping a 5th player, Allen or DT. You'll most likely end up getting Lynch at pick 6 (if no one keeps 5) so do you like him more than Allen or DT?

That'd be how I'd attack it too. It's a very nice start, and I'd rather have the #6 pick than Allen (who I don't trust at all) or D. Thomas (whose QB situation I don't trust).

Thanks for all the help guys. I ended up going 4 keepers (Jones (4), Ajayi (8), M.Thomas (15), Baldwin (16)) and I'm hoping for some hope to get a solid RB with my 1st pick, if not pick a top QB, or WR. We'll see who's available once the Commish locks in everyone's keepers today
