Rinkside is my main league and NEHL a project and I can vouch for both being really active. One point to consider though, and does make a difference, is almost all league chat is done through the message boards so if you are a one stop shop kind of guy it probably isn't right for you

I have one of the top teams in the league, and I'm up against this team this week, and I'm barely in the lead, and that's with me setting my roster and the other team not doing so!
