Cam Ward - Rest of season

He's had a pretty good run of late, even if he gave up plenty of goals in his most recent games.
Do you see him having a decent second half? Are the Canes a legit team?

On the eye test the Hurricanes do seem legitimate and Ward is doing well - now I would temper that by only acquiring ward as my third goalie and I'd be loathe to give up too big an asset for that but he is definitely service me in the second half

I didn't give anything for him, I simply picked him up at my waiver draft.
I'll be using him instead of Hellebuyck moving forward (keeping Hellboy in my reserve) and hopefully get more consistent goaltending.
I'm currently first in my league and wanted to cover my bases.

lol, this is my exact situation, though he's not on waivers ...a guy is dangling him, and im trying to figure out how much of an upgrade over Varly as #3G (and to spell Helly, who has killed me this last week)
I have a sneaking suspicion that Varly and the Avs will make a push for respectability in this 2nd half and the Canes will slide in that tough division ...

guy wants Trouba too, so hell no to that ...but might do a pick for CW

Many people, including me, have been burnt by Ward too many times. A few years ago, when Jordan Staal moved to Carolina, I even traded for Ward expecting a Carolina surge.

Keep a close eye on him though, he has been tempting me all year. Carolina has had a league best PK the entire season so far, which currently sits at 88.7%. They are playing very defensively sound, almost a hybrid trap through the blue zone so that opposition players can't enter their zone with any speed. If I wasn't already too deep on goaltenders, he'd be in my roster.

With Pavelec recalled this morning, I am extremely happy with my move!
In a points-only set-up, you need #1 goalies and Ward seems like he'll be playing 65 games this season.
