Ranta vs. Allen

I just made a trade that netted me Ranta, who I was going to use as a spot starter along with Price and Helly. But to my surprise the other owner is going to drop Allen in this 3-for-2 trade. I could re-do the trade to get Allen instead of Ranta. Ranta's numbers are great and Allen has not been very good, but dang, it sure seems like he'd be the better goalie to get. Thoughts?

I think you're going to need a starting goalie once Quick returns from injury (maybe next month). So Allen is still the better choice for you, even though Raanta has significantly better ratios. Yes, I'd ask the other owner.

I'm giving up Budaj in the trade, confident that between Ranta getting spot starts, Helly being 1a now and Price getting 80%, I can make my 4 start/week minimum. You're right, Allen will certainly get me lots more spots than Ranta. I guess it comes down to whether Price and Helly are enough. I think I probably want Allen, although Ranta's numbers have been great. Do I want a lot of starts from an average goalie or a few starts from a really good one? That's the question.
