    Default Michael McCarron

How has Micheal McCarron looked in his current cup of coffee with the habs? Do you think he stays up much longer?

In some what of a different ilk, what do you guys think of his future upside/ceiling?

    Thanks!

    He won't stay this year..

I don't see him ever becoming fantasy relevant .. he's at best a bottom 6 player IF he starts using that big body of his a bit more..

He has more upside than just being a bottom 6 guy. He's actually talented plus his size makes him appealing to mix in the top-6 with smaller skill players. We're a few years away from seeing his potential though.

For now it's going to be a lot of promotions/demotions and moving around the lineup when he's in the NHL but next year he'll be up permanently. No way they can justify re-signing Desharnais which opens the door for McCarron to make the jump permanently. He just won't put up great numbers as the 4th C.

Given his ahl production, you're looking at a third liner at best.

He's a solid 3rd liner for me, reminds me a lot of Brian Boyle but with better upside.

I was just going to post a similar thread, so figured, I'd bump this one instead.

I'm on the other side of this than a Brian Boyle comparable. I see McCarron with David Backes type upside, 2nd/3rd line C - will provide lots of HITS/PIM and has 25-25 potential. In leagues with lots of peripheral settings, he's going to have solid value in 2-3 years.
