- Jamie Benn was dinged up in the Stars' 3-1 loss to the Panthers Saturday night.
Benn wanted to finish the game despite getting injured but it appears that Dallas coach Lindy Ruff may be regretting allowing him to do that. "[Benn] wanted to finish game", said Ruff. "I don?t know if that was the smartest decision or not. Hopefully, we didn?t create a bigger problem." Based on this and the 2 game sched I'd bench him in weekly leagues

Sounds like it's worse than we were initially led to believe. Earliest he can come back is next week.

Let's hope it's not serious... my team can't absorb the loss of Benn for a long period.

His IR stint was retro-active to Dec 31, so earliest would be Saturday. Could just be they IR’d him instead of DTD because Roussel was coming off his IR and they needed the room.

The Stars had to place Jamie Benn (foot) on IR Wednesday to activate Antoine Roussel (upper body) off of IR. Benn is eligible to come off IR Sunday, but that will require another move.

Benn was placed on injured reserve after hurting his foot Saturday against the Florida Panthers. Benn was listed as day to day Monday, but because the Stars are carrying eight defensemen, Dallas needed to place Benn on IR retroactive to Saturday's game so it could activate Antoine Roussel off of IR. Benn will be eligible to play Monday at Los Angeles if he is healthy.
