Kaprizov Draft value..

Kirill kaprizov has not been claimed in our yearly prospect draft which runs every summer. I understand it's still early but if kirill was eligible for this year's draft where would fall. Top 5, 10 or later bec of the Russian factor? Thanks

If it is the NHL draft, probably after the top 10 because Russia.

For fantasy purposes, if you can wait, I'd take him in the top 10. Perhaps in the top 5. I have been hyping him a lot on here though, so perhaps I am biased haha

I would say easy top 5. The Russian factor doesn't mean much to me, and he's looking like a stud. This draft class keeps being paraded as a little weaker too, so he gets bumped up higher than he might have been in previous years.

I'm not taking him in the top 10. His game reminds me too much of Nikita Filatov, absolutely dominant in junior, but I'm not convinced it will translate to the NHL. Toss in the Russian factor and top 10 is too rich for my blood.

I bought the Filatov cool aid, so maybe I'm too bitter about that, but I wouldn't gamble on him until somewhere in the mid teens for a fantasy draft with this year's crop.

#1. How does Kaprizov compare as a prospect to Kyle Connor in a pts only pool (24 player roster, top 12 forwards, top 4 defence, top 1 goalie, keep 19?
#2. Does Kaprizov have more value than Pavel Buchnevich?
#3. Does Kaprizov have more value than T.J Oshie - i am a contending team but Oshie most likely wont be counting for my points next year. If i get Kaprizov then I would most likely putting him on the shelf and waiting for him to come over.

1. I'd probably take him over Connor, just because he won't be behind established stars and I think his upside could be higher

2. Right now no. Buchnevich will put up NHL points while KK will be in the KHL for a couple seasons

3. If you don't need Oshie do it, if you want to win wait as long as you can but you may lose out. I'd prefer winning over a potential prospect myself

Yes, but only if you can afford to wait on KK for a couple seasons to come over to the NHL
