By "NHL Contracts" do you mean it's a salary cap league? It doesn't play a huge role in the decision, but it does matter. I'm also wondering if you have a farm system or something to be able to store McCarron and Dickinson on.

If there is a farm team, then the Skinner side of the deal is probably better, mainly because of Vatanen. If I'm competing now though, then I want the Couture side as long as my defence isn't in shambles (thus needing Vatanen's help).

Sorry, yes nhl contracts. when a players nhl contract expires we have the option to accept or decline new deals.
I am a contender but in salary cap problem, this trade helps a little.
my D is underwhelming with Vatanen, Ekblad, Ghost and B Camp.


yes we hold prospects for 4 years so McCarron and Dickinson(2013)have to be on my roster next season or they become free agents

I like it. It helps your salary cap issue and upgrades your D enough to offset the downgrade in Couture to Skinner. If you need to let the others go at the end of the yaer I don't think its a killer.

Whoa..wait..I had this backwards. I didn't read it close enough here...but it doesn't cahnge my view actually.

I like vats better than dumba but couture more than skinner. And the other two likely not keepers anyway. If it clears your cap issues..make the deal..still.

Dumba over Trouba? I can have either just think Dumba would be better for Fantasy and Trouba better for NHL

Go for Dumba. He's a nice player with plenty of upside & fantasy relevance, especially with your leagues cats.

Dumba by a hair over Trouba, but I don't like the deal with the new info. You downgrading D which is your weak point. You can find a better deal for cap space, and taking on Couture isn't helping.
