There have been lots of rumors that Shalunov is moving away from Siberia (his current team) and going to play in Moscow or St. Petersburg next season. Those are both great cities with elite KHL teams, so it's not that bad for him.
But yeah, this is all because of NHL's Olympic decision. He was more likely to play in the NHL than the KHL before that decision but he just had no interest after that.
