Option 3?
I'd hold Mason over Lehner.
Picked up Mason last week, but a couple of crummy starts. He was hot, maybe now not. Lehner available. Has good stats but not as good a team. Who would you rather have ROS?

This is a very tough call. I would currently stick with Mason as he's had a hot hand (up until some recent problems) and Philly has been playing very well. Buffalo doesn't have it all together yet, should be battling with Detroit for the bottom of the Atlantic. I'd also say that Lehner will be less consistent than Mason in terms of Wins, GAA and SV%... Lehner will put up some good numbers but when can you count on him? (I've long looked for a science when it comes to goaltending, I've found its more like black magic).
In this situation, you have to go with the guy that has more potential. Mason has way more upside than Lehner and if both were available on the wire, I would not hesitate in picking up Mason over Lehner.
Only risk with Mason is what happens when Neuvirth comes back into the lineup? Does Philly turn back into a tandem and does this negatively affect Mason's performance? 3rd goalies are always a tough call... I'd watch the Neuvirth situation closely

I would take Mason as well
Lehner gets a bad wrap because his team can't convert his performances into wins. When you look at his stats, his GAA is good (not great) in the mid 2's but his SV% is pretty solid with low .920's
I
n your format, I would still go for Mason as he will beat Lehner in W's and most likely in GAA down the run. Lehner's SV% can remain constant or fall, but his 2 other categories cannot go up IMO due to the team. In light of this, Mason has the upper hand here.

Mason for the reasons above. Lehner is more injury prone and on a team that's not as good as Philly yet.
I'd prefer none of the above, but given the choice, I'd go with Lehner by a slight margin, as I think he complements the 2 starters you have better. Mason is weaker in SV% & GAA, stronger in wins - repally depends on what yo need from that spot.

I lead the league in wins, so I am really leaning this way. Occasional bad start by Rask or Crawford can be helped by Lehners stats. Rely on my main two guys for wins.

Run the same night tool and decide from that. I think it's linked to in the one year forum.
I know philly plays more off nights than buffalo.
