For the next year or two, maybe even three, I want Konecny. Long term I want Dubois though.
I am working on a trade offer, and am going to included one of my prospects. So just trying to see who is going to best to keep going forward between Dubois and Konecny?
Who should I keep, PL Dubois or Konecny?
Please advise. Hoping to get a deal done tonight.
Thanks

Give me the guy who is already contributing every time
Experience is the teacher of all things.
None of us own a crystal ball so we can all assume who will be the better guy in a couple years but for me, long term, I want Dubois.
While Konecny is a solid player (and yes, contributing today), the Blue Jackets invested big time in Dubois and is eyed as the future for this team for good reason.

I also like the upside of Dubois but man it would be tough to let go of Konecny. He's the safer pick for sure since he's already shown he can play very well at the NHL level. But with his size and playing style, he's going to need a lot of luck to avoid major injuries on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, I love the way he plays. But I think it makes him more vulnerable to injuries.
Duby for me. I think the guy is going to be a nasty force in the league. I also like the way the BJs are moving as well. Bigger upside for Duby.
Not that I don't like Konecny, and I do like the Flyers future as well.

konecny will be very good, but to me, this one is a no brainer. dubois all the way.
I'm NOT convinced of Dubois at all.. he hasn't proven anything this year so far..

F: MacKinnon, Marner, Svechnikov, J.Hughes, Konecny, Ziba, Malkin, Kaprisov, Monahan, Reinhart, Tarasenko, Seguin (Hintz while IR)
D: Chabot, Q.Hughes, Barrie, Sergachev, Burns, Dobson
G: Price, Hellebuyck
Reserve: Kakko, Gusev
I'd pick neither but would go with Dubois. Konecny definitely has lower upside and hasn't really been that impressive in his rookie season.
..i barely got by your avatar..
but PLD, but only because i like him better, still not sure either of them will be what we hoped...

Alright now you're just starting to spew nonsense, might be a good idea for you to take the afternoon off on here, Ev.Konecny definitely has lower upside and hasn't really been that impressive in his rookie season.
Konecny is 9th in rookie scoring and is on pace for a 40 point rookie season (only 9 rookies did that last year; and only 34 rookies since 2010)... and you can count that number in half if you only consider rookies 19 years old or younger. That is pretty damn impressive.
I have a feeling you'd be pumping his tires for ROY if he was a Senator (speaking of which, only 3 Sens rookies have put up 40 or more points since hte 2000-2001 season). Is his season impressive now???
To answer the actual thread...
They should both end up being great hockey players. Dubois seems to have taken a step back this year but many top picks have done the same after getting sent back to Junior when they could have easily made their NHL club... I'd suspect he will start to tear things up down the stretch in Junior... worth keeping an eye on, anyway.
They should both turn into 60 point, multi-cat players. Dubois has the higher upside (think somewhere in between: Perry, Benn, Wheeler, Landeskog, Simmonds) and trade value. Konecny (think a mix of: Schenn, Kesler, Foligno, Oshie) is, as proven here, highly underrated.

PLD has not looked good this season at all. Anywhere. Too early to call him a bust but I'd certainly be concerned about his development. I'd probably take Konecny here
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.
This is definitely a tough one and I'm not sure what the right answer will end up being.
For what it's worth, Dubois has not been good at all at the WJHC while Konecny is putting up respectable numbers in the NHL as a rookie. Safe money is to take the more known commodity in Konecny. Greater risk/reward with Dubois. Tough choice.

I don't really want to discuss this with you because I often don't respect your opinions or take you seriously given some of your past posts (such as your utter lack of knowledge when discussing Karlsson and Anderson), but I don't find Konecny all that impressive after he had a hot start and I don't think his style will result in a long career. He's too small to play the game he does and it leads to injuries. Dubois has higher upside without question. 9th in rookie scoring isn't something that is all that impressive and 40 points won't get you a Calder in any season.
LOL you "often don't respect" anyone's opinions but your own and hail them as fact. You should get twitter. You'd give Trump a serious run for his money on there.
Agree to disagree on Konecny. And yes, we disagreed on Anderson and I backed my opinion up with cold hard stats. Don't think I've talked about Karlsson since you changed your account name though...
