    Question Drouin or Barkov

Both are available in my league..leaning more towards Barkov as I need the C depth, but who has more upside for the remainder of the year?
    Thoughts??
    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forums.

What does your roster look like and what categories do you use in your league? Do you have to drop someone to pick up one of these guys? Also, how many do you start at each position?

Personally, I think Drouin is the better option in a one-year league or a keeper. It would be helpful to see the rest of your roster though.

    My roster is:
Seguin, Schwartz, Panarin, Benn, Pastrnak, Okposo, Byfuglien, Ghost, Yandle, Werenski, Keith, Ehlers
G: Dubynk, Luongo, just added Vasilesky
Cats: G,A, PIMS, PPG, PPA, SOG + Goalie Cats
I have an empty spot so don't have to drop anyone...
    Thanks!

I'd have to go Drouin as well. He's in a much better usage situation and his PP points are going to be excellent. Barkov is on a bit more of an "offense by committee" team. And Hubredeau will be back at some point and that will drop his ice time. I don't think that will happen to Drouin.

If you need a C, I'd go Barkov. I think it's pretty even but even if you argue that Drouin is better in one-year leagues, that difference is not big enough IMO to forego positional need (if that's what I'm looking for).

True, I do have Seguin and Schwartz who can play at C...was thinking Barkov has longer term upside, but hesitant about missing out on Drouin's PP stats...dilemma

Barkov has proven way more than Drouin... I'd go with him.

Barkov has been on a roll lately, Drouin too, but not as much as Barkov. I think Barkov is the better choice. Drouin doesn't yet have an NHL season to show where he's put up the points Barkov did last season. BTW, when huberdeau is back it wont hurt his ice time, it will make Barkov even more productive. Huberdeau's passing skills helped Barkov put up the points he did last year.

I like Barkov more than Drouin, but Drouin does have the wing advantage.

I would prefer Barkov, he has been really rolling lately, more proven, and Huberdeau coming back should help, not hurt Barkov, he's FLA's best winger!

Barkov for me - Drouin always beats up when the Bolts have a key injury up front and right now they have a few which means he's on a 'hot' streak. I'd have preferred Barkov to start the season and still do tbh

I lost Barkov this year in an expansion draft and ended up taking Drouin as a compensatory pick.

I was plenty bummed about it at the time but as of now at least I'm somewhat encouraged about how it has turned out. A big part of that is having dual-wing eligibility, which I'll take any day over an exclusive C assuming the overall performance differential is marginal.
