The Brandon Wheat Kings Centre, Nolan Patrick, closes 2016 on top at #1, in the December release of the ISS Top 31. Rising 13 ranks to #8, the biggest riser within this month’s release was Halifax Mooseheads Centre, Nico Hischier. While fellow QMJHL winger, Maxime Comtois descended nine ranks to #16.

“Hischier showed amazing offensive play throughout the month of November,” says ISS Hockey Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. “His accurate shot awarded him with a five and four goal night respectively. Hischier’s opponents should beware of his exceptional skill at making plays behind the net.”

Hischier is too low. I think he's the 2nd best forward currently.
I can't promise I'll try but I'll try to try.

Mercy, junior hockey has become pretty geographically diverse when you only see FIVE OHL players in the top 31.
Good for hockey. Love seeing those Spits on the list!

Agreed that's nice to see. Two from the Cze leagues too.
First time in a while with no London Knights right near the top!

Also it confused me as to why there were 31 listed, but I now realize the first round is going to be 31 picks this year. Hadn't really clued into that!

Miro Heiskanen not being in the top-31 is a joke. He's going to be a 1st rounder for sure. He should be above Salo, Jokiharju and Vaakanainen (not familiar enough to comment on the other names in that range). Maybe even above Välimäki who is #14. (By the way, lots of Finnish D-men in this draft.)

    From Miro Heiskanen's EliteProspects page:

I started a new thread for this guy but I can't see Cale Makar from the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL not going in the first round. His stock is rising fast and he is climbing up the draft boards as you read this.
