    Question Kuzy, RyJo, or Barkov

    Hello Dobber Forum,

The latest ramblings regarding Kuznetsov being a solid buy low choice, and the numerous conflicting opinions I see (on these forums and elsewhere) have got me thinking about these 3 centres:

    • Kuznetsov
    • Johansen
    • Barkov

How do you rate them? Upside? Who would you want out of the 3 going forward?

RyJo, Kuzy, Barkov, but I feel like it's splitting hairs, no matter which way you go.

I put RyJo at the top because of his unquestioned 1C position on the team, and the high-end talent around him (Forsberg, Neal, Josi, Subban, with a great secondary supporting cast).

I put Kuzy second, because I do not believe (yet, anyway) that last season was a complete fluke. Similarly to RyJo, with the talented nucleus around him, I could see him going off for 15 points in an 8 game stretch and suddenly everyone is super high on him again.

Barkov comes in third. His supporting cast just isn't quite as good in my opinion, and he has more of an injury history than the other two (FWIW, if anything at all).

edit: I cast my vote after my post, and see that the results are favouring RyJo 4-1-1 right now, so that's good to see.

    1. Johansen - a solid, stable centerman with some decent upside. had some rough patches but i think he's still a safe bet.
    2. Kuznetsov - I was tempted to put him at 3 but I think he has the biggest upside of the three and I dont think we can just write him off now that he's starting slow - this has happened to other elite pedigree players before. he's under extra scrutiny now.
    3. Barkov - solid player, but someone had to go 3. big upside here too, but I want to see more.
