Hellebuyck or Mason for rest of season

Who would you roll with for the rest of the season? Categories are W, GAA, SV% & SHO.

Both are ''up and down'' options at the moment, but I love the Jets' young core and I think if/once they go on a roll, they will be hard to stop. Hellebuyck has shown his brilliance in some starts, but he has been inconsistent overall. The same can be said for Mason but to a lesser extent on the ''brilliance'' part.

In light of this, I'll go with Helle, although I own him so my opinion may be biased.

I'd roll with the Winnipeg young guns. IMO though, they will likely finish be pretty close at the end of the season.

I own both (different leagues) and I trust Helle more.

I'd go with Helle also. I'll admit to some owner-bias up front.

My rationale is that we pretty much know who Mason is. However, we don't know quite yet how good Helle will be, just that he's pretty good so far and that the organization is clearly going all-in with him. So I'm willing to gamble that he'll eventually surpass Mason.

I like Helly more for sv% but he's also in the Central division where, as good as WPG has been, they have to go up against CHI, STL, NSH, DAL, and MIN routinely. I like Mason more because I feel PHI can win more in the East and I think he will be either a key to it or along for the ride. So:

pretty even on gaa, though I'd honestly give the edge to Mason here slightly
SO are up in the air.

In conclusion I would ever so slightly pick Mason, but would be fine with Helly too

Hellebuyck for rest of year, and down the line both.

Mason is basically an average goalie overall who needs the net to himself even when he is playing poorly enough to not merit that. He is capable of hot streaks and playing well enough to make his numbers look good, but he doesn't have "it" that makes him a guy a team can ride far in the playoffs, and when Neuwirth comes back, Stolarz gets more comfortable, or something else happens, he will go through another slump.

Hellebuyck. Mason could have a few better stats overall but Neuvirth is coming back and Philly have a lot of b2bs - even if Mason holds the starting job Neuv will play a bit more than a typical backup. I'd want the certainty of Hellebuyck since it doesnt look like Hutch is going to mount any kind of challenge on that job.
