I think he is stuck in that 1A or 1B much like a Neuvirth, Mason, Reimer area.
Do you think Markstrom will become a solid starting goalie in the NHL, and will it be soon?

Not an elite starter, but not a full time backup either. As mentioned before, in the same boat as Reimer and Neuvirth.

We will see next season.. but on that Canucks team he looks like Reimer II

It wouldn't surprise me to see them extend Millers contract, just because. I do think Markstrom can be a starter but the Canucks need a lot of work in general so Markstroms number won't be pretty.
Incorrect.
We don't know who the 1a is going to be. Millers contract is up at the end of this season and I doubt the Canucks will resign him. I bet he's worth a first to a team like Dallas.
Demko will play next season, I'm betting 15-20 games.
But oh man, this team is going to be bad next season.
I dont see this happening. Why would they rush him, especially when you look at his numbers so far in the AHL this year. Nothing spectacular. Teams are willing to be patient with their young goalies and I dont see Vancouver being any different here.
Never say never, but I will be shocked if hes in the NHL next year.

Also you have to consider what you are exposing him too by rushing him...

I think he will be a a solid starter. They need to move on from Miller, and he has been there long enough. We should know in the next year or 2, what his level is.

Was just looking at Markstrom's numbers. Over the past 10g, he's had a sv percentage of .918.
On a lousy team.
Those numbers are really encouraging. I think his Compass is pointing North.

I don't think anyone doubts his ability any more but over a small sample and as a bonafide starter is what worries me on that team... Miller's numbers are even better his last 4/5 games. Does that mean that the Canucks are better defensively or have just benefitted from the schedule? Not sure but I don't have faith in them long term right now
