I see his starts picking up, are they just riding the hot hand or is this the beginning of the passing of the reigns and Tampa moves on from bishop say at the deadline or even this summer, either way I honestly think he's going to be a great goalie and I'm wondering if I get him in a trade, would he be worth keeping over Schneider

Well something has to give. The expansion draft is going to force the issue. This means that if Bishop is signed by Tampa before the end of the year, they will have to make a choice of who to protect between Vasilevskiy and Bishop. I don't see that happening. Bishop will be traded as a rental by the end of the year and Vasilevskiy will be protected. This makes him the starter next year. I can't see it happening any other way.

Agreed. I think Vas takes over if/when Bishop is traded this season or by the start of 2017/18.
as I posted on a similar threat about Fleury...it's not a good situation where Fleury and Bishop know they aren't the guy going forward. Tough to play like that. Maybe they agree to be moved to Dallas (built to win now) or Calgary (on the up) and a veteran goes back the other way to mentor but not challenge Vas and Murray.
The difference between Fleury and Bishop though is Fleury is still signed for two more seasons and has a NMC. Bishop is a UFA at seasons end.
Everyone seems to assume that Fleury will waive his NMC and allow the Pens to expose him for the expansion draft, but Fleury could simply say no thanks to that, forcing the Pens to expose Murray. It certainly within the realm of possibility. Fleury signed that contract in good faith and earned the NMC and dollars and normally, when a NMC is in there that can usually means that money was left on the table to get that NMC.
I am not 100% sold that Fleury is going to waive his NMC. Also, from what I have read, Fleury's NMC is like Phaneufs where it's limited to a certain number of teams (I've read 12) that he simply cannot be traded to. That doesn't mean he still can't be moved to one of the other teams. The issue comes down to Fleury's contract and whether or not those other teams that aren't on his list can even afford Fleury.
It's going to get interesting in Pittsburgh. The same can be said about TB, but a lot more interesting in Pittsburgh.
I'd say there's more certainty that Bishop is living on borrowed time in TB.

"Cleavage is like the sun. You can look, but dont stare.. Unless you're wearing sunglasses."
This is what I thought as well Ax and stated the same on another thread. I was then informed that MAF's NMC is a limited one in that he can choose 12 teams that he does NOT wanted to get traded to. Therefore, that would allow him to be moved to 18 other teams no? I honestly have no clue but if this is correct, then all Pitt needs to do is move MAF for pennies on the dollar to protect the goalie they truly want.
Is this infact the case?
in any event... I love VAS, but Schneider is one of the best in the business. NJ isn't, but Schneid's is. Vas has been anointed "the next Holtby" by many here. I'm not sure if that's the case or not. But I'm not sure at this point that I let Schneid's go for Vas until the future is clearer.
I see more of a “trade for a draft pick” after the season with Bishop. Or they let him go to the VGK instead of losing some of their players.
I don’t see an in-season move.
