Gonna need to replace the leftie if they want any hope next year. Enough committee bullpen crap.

ST. LOUIS — The Cardinals filled the biggest void in their bullpen Monday with Brett Cecil, the only left-handed reliever that piqued their interest on the free-agent market.
Cecil was introduced at Busch Stadium after finalizing a $30.5 million, four-year contract. He is expected to provide help in high-leverage situations along with Kevin Siegriest and ahead of closer Seung Hwan Oh, though general manager John Mozeliak said all three are capable of finishing games.
"Brett was the one person we thought if we were going to make a splash in the bullpen, he was the one we identified," Mozeliak said. "There was a lot of demand for him and it was moving."
The four-year deal for the 30-year-old Cecil gained attention, but Mozeliak said he was comfortable with the length of the contract because of the interest he was generating.

Enjoy him St.Louis.
After this past season... happy to be looking elsewhere.
His August, September and October he was great I thought. He was coming back from a torn calf, and then had (I think…can’t remember) a forearm strain that kept him out for 2 months and was clearly bothering him while he pitched before his DL stint.
He was a solid LHP who if he got his curveball painted to the bottom corner, look out. But he’s not worth a 4yr deal, 7+mill/yr and a full no trade clause.

As the off season went on, Cecil was the one guy I absolutely wanted back. When he was on, he was untouchable. Since 2013, there are few BP arms that were as good as Cecil and being a Lefty makes him that much more valuable.
O'Day signed a similar deal last off season, so the length and $ amount are the new norm. The Cards, who imo are the most stable organization in MLB, greatly improved their BP without breaking the bank.
Yeah, they should have matched.
