You do realize that Walsh is Halak's agent right?

I just dont see a market for halak unless a team really believes in him .He has a year left so it doesnt make sense for the kings unless isles eat half his salary or take back a bad contract. For the isles sake , at least Halak regained some value by having a solid Wcup , coming to camp healthy etc....

I guess there could be a darkhorse but that remaining year on the likes of halak, niemi, lehtonen's contracts makes it prohibitive for these guys to be shopped.

Halak is not a very good goalie, maybe Walsh should have added that at the end of his tweet!!

Following agent Allan Walsh's rant on Twitter Saturday night, Islanders GM Garth Snow has alerted the the other 29 GM's that Jaroslav Halak can be had.
Walsh, one of sport's most out-spoken agents, berated the Islanders for carrying three goalies for a second straight year in Halak, Thomas Greiss, and Walsh's other Islander goalie client, Jean-Francois Berube. Both Halak and Greiss have performed well below their career marks thus far, but Halak carries the most term with another season at $4.5M and potentially the most return-value in a trade. Stay tuned.

I think this might light a fire under Halak, since if he does well then either everyone can make nice again or he paves his way out of town.

Or Buffalo. Dont see many other options outside of those two, however. Almost everyone is pretty set; quite a bit of depth at that position league-wide. I guess we know who NYI is exposing in the expansion draft, if this goes that far.

I don't see a trade coming. This is just an agent pushing to make a better situation for his two clients.

The state of the ice at Barclays is so bad that I think a look forward a few seasons might not be such a bad idea for the Islanders. If by trading Halak they can get a solid younger player back then they should do it. The sooner they leave Brooklyn the better...
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

the more I think about the agent tweet the more I think he's defending berube moreso than halak .

theres just no market for halak so I have no idea where this is headed unless the isles get desperate and eat a bad la kings contract

Unless something bad really happens to a goalie (LTIR for the yr), I don’t see much coming from this. I was hoping for Halak to have a solid yr after the world cup. But the NYI as a whole haven’t been playing fantastic hockey, so that definitely effects Halak. The ice is notoriously crap too, so it can’t add any ease to playing net there.

After what Elias said about him when Welsh was his agent, I’m surprised he has anyone. He must get players solid contracts.
